Governor Abbott Endorses Joan Huffman
Proven Conservative Leader
Senator Joan Huffman has dedicated her life to public service, first as a Harris County
prosecutor, then as a Criminal District Court Judge and now as State Senator for District 17.
She has been at the table, leading the fight, finding solutions to our state’s toughest
challenges and improving the lives of Texans.
Families and businesses are moving to Texas because we keep taxes low and allow
businesses to grow and create jobs. Senator Huffman passed balanced state budgets that cut
wasteful spending and didn’t raise taxes because she knows the Texas Economic Miracle
didn’t happen by accident.
Senator Huffman is dedicated to fully funding our schools and ensuring more education
dollars go to our teachers. She is a leader in the Senate combating human trafficking, passing
a bill to make it easier to prosecute and imprison the criminals responsible. Senator Huffman
was named the “2017 Hero for Texas Children” by the National Center for Missing and
Exploited Children and the “Big Voice for Little Texans” by the Court Appointed Special
Advocates for her work to protect children.
As your State Senator, Joan Huffman will continue working to make Texas a leader for our
nation for generations to come.
